As we all known, stainless steel has high anti-rust ability but not entirely stainless.
But in what kind of environment the stainless steel could be rusted?

Fresh water corrosion of stainless steel products are mainly caused by the PH of the water, oxygen content and other causes.
Acid water
The acidity of acid water is much stronger than fresh water. Such water contains more pollutant which will make the stainless steel product rusted easier.
Salt water
Most of corrosion of stainless steel products caused by salt-water is like pitting.
